The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is one of the main part of the Nigerian military that has been fighting hand in hand with the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Navy. The Nigerian Air Force is the youngest force in the Military. The Nigerian Air Force was founded on 18 April 1964. Since the establishment of this force, it has been one of the best. They also has one of the largest men in all the Air force in world as they have up to one hundred thousand active personnels.
The Nigerian Air Force has fighting equipments like the Fighter JetA, Attack Helicopters, Attack Drones, Surveillance Drones SAM (Air Defense System). They have also participated in some missions like the Nigerian Civil war, first Liberian civil war, Sierra Leone civil war and many others. Before we talk about the requirements, there are some few things we need to explain concerning this recruitment. The Nigerian Air Force conducts three main basic recruitment yearly. For those who are gradutes and wish to to join the Nigerian AirForce, this post is not for you as we have written a post on how to join the Nigerian AirForce as a graduate. What we mean by gradutes is those that posseses HND or BSC or equivalent.
Secondly, for those who wish to become commissioned Officers using SSCE certificate in the Nigerian Air Force, you need to go through the Nigerian Defence Academy where you will spend about 5 years before you will be commissioned into the Nigerian Air Force as an AirForce Officer. Now for the AirForce recruitment, for the non commissioned Officers, it’s meant for those that posseses SSCE, NCE or National Diploma. Before you can be able to join the Nigerian Air Force, below is the requirements you need to possess.
Nigerian Air Force Recruitment Requirements
- Applicants must be a Nigerian by birth with a means of identification.
- All applicants must be at least 18 years before applying and not more than 22 years old, especially for the BMTC Recruitment exercise. The only exception to this age is for those who are joining as Medical Consultants[25-40 years] and Chaplains/Imams(20 – 32 years).
- The minimum height for male applicants is 1.65m, while the minimum height for female applicants is 1.63m.
- Possession of an Olevel result with a minimum of at least five credits in relevant subjects(including English and Mathematics)
- All the Applicants must be physically and medically fit before applying
- Applicants must possess Local Government Area Attestation Form.
- All the applicants are expected to be single; also, pregnant women are not allowed to apply.
- After a successful Application, you are expected to printout an acknowledgment slip, Attestation of Parent / Guardians Form, and Local Government Area Attestation Form
- A Bank Verification Number[BVN] is also needed before you can apply for the recruitment.
- For those applying as tradesmen, you are expected to present your trade test or trade certificate as the case may be.
