The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is a Nigerian law enforcement agency created in 2003 during the time of President Olusegun Obasanjo to investigate and prosecute money laundering, fraud, and other financial crimes.

EFCC Salary Structure

The EFCC salary structure is one of the most attractive in Nigeria’s law enforcement agencies. The salary structure is based on the Consolidated Paramilitary Salary Structure (CONPASS), which specifies the salaries of all paramilitary agencies in Nigeria.

Those who joined the EFCC with SSCE certificate are given the rank of Assistant Detective Superintendent (ADS) and are paid about N140,000 monthly, While those who joined the EFCC as a graduate are given the rank of Chief Detective Superintendent (CDS) and are paid about N170,000 monthly. Those that joined the EFCC using National Diploma or NCE certificate are given the rank of Detective Superintendent (DS) and are paid about N150,000 monthly.

1. Assistant Detective Superintendent (ADS) – N140,000 monthly

5. Deputy Director (DD) – N250,000 monthly

EFCC Ranks:

The EFCC Rank structure starts from the Assistant Detective Superintendent to the Director. The various ranks in the EFCC are listed below:

1. Assistant Detective Superintendent (ADS):
The Assistant Detective Superintendent is the entry-level rank in the EFCC. The ADS is required to have at least five years of experience in law enforcement or auditing.

2. Detective Superintendent (DS):
The Detective Superintendent is the second rank in the EFCC. The DS is expected to have a minimum of 10 years of law enforcement or auditing experience.

3. Chief Detective Superintendent (CDS):
Chief Detective Superintendent is the third rank in the EFCC. It requires a minimum of 15 years of law enforcement or auditing experience.

4. Assistant Director (AD):
The Assistant Director is the rank above Chief Detective Superintendent. It requires a minimum of 20 years of law enforcement or auditing experience.

6. Director:
The Director is the highest rank in the EFCC. The position is occupied by one of the most experienced and qualified law enforcement officials in Nigeria.

EFCC Allowances:

In addition to their basic salary, EFCC officers are entitled to many allowances, including a uniform allowance, a transport allowance, a hazard allowance, and a meal subsidy. The uniform allowance is given to purchase or maintain the uniform, while the transport allowance is to cater for the officers’ transport needs.
